Stana Katic
Stana Katic (;〔Stana says her own name near the beginning of the audio commentary for "A Death in the Family" in the DVD collection ''Castle: The Complete First Season.''〕 born 26 April 1978) is a Canadian-American film and television actress of Croatian Serb〔 descent. She plays Captain Kate Beckett on the ABC series ''Castle''.
== Early life ==
Katic was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to Croatian Serb parents Petar and Rada Katić, who emigrated from Yugoslavia. In describing her ethnicity, she has stated "My parents are Serbs from Croatia. I call us Dalmatian because that's the part of the planet that we are originally from. I have Serb, Croat and even a handful of Montenegrin family members." Her father is from Vrlika, and her mother is from the surrounding area of Sinj.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=I u Hollywoodu jedem ribu i blitvu )〕 Katic later moved with her family to Aurora, Illinois. She spent the following years moving back and forth between Canada and the United States.
